Is Sellify compatible with Shopify Checkout Extensibility?

Short answer

Yes. Sellify is built only on Shopify Checkout Extensibility surfaces (checkout UI extensions, the post-purchase extension and Shopify Functions), with no checkout.liquid and no script tags. The upsell block inside checkout needs Shopify Plus; the post-purchase and thank you page upsells work on Basic Shopify and higher.

Plan availability comes from Shopify's checkout apps documentation: apps can customize the information, shipping and payment steps only on Shopify Plus, while thank you page extensions, post-purchase extensions and public apps built with Shopify Functions work on Basic Shopify and higher.

How to add Sellify to your checkout

1. Checkout upsell (Shopify Plus)

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Checkout.
  2. Open the checkout editor for your checkout configuration.
  3. On the Checkout page, click Add block and choose Sellify - Checkout Upsell. By default it goes in the order summary; move it if you prefer.
  4. Save, then create and activate a checkout offer in Sellify.

2. Post-purchase page

  1. Create and activate a funnel in Sellify.
  2. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Checkout.
  3. In the Post-purchase page section, select Sellify and save.

3. Thank you page

  1. In the checkout editor, switch to the Thank you page.
  2. Click Add block and choose Sellify - Thank you Upsell (or Sellify - Survey thank you page for surveys).
  3. Save, then set up the thank you page offer in your Sellify funnel.

Limitations to know

  • Without Shopify Plus, the checkout upsell block is not available. Use the product page, post-purchase page and thank you page instead.
  • Shopify allows at most three apps in the same checkout area, and only one post-purchase app at a time.
  • The checkout block hides itself when Shopify doesn't allow adding items to that checkout. It never offers products already in the cart or products sold only as subscriptions.
  • The post-purchase page follows Shopify's rules: it is not shown for some payment methods (for example gift cards, Klarna or Apple Pay), for orders under $0.50, for orders with duties or multiple currencies, or for orders placed outside the Online Store.   • A thank you page offer creates a separate order: the buyer pays for it in a new, pre-filled checkout.

Does Sellify use checkout.liquid or script tags?

No. Sellify doesn't rely on checkout.liquid, additional scripts or script tags, which Shopify has replaced with Checkout Extensibility. Every Sellify surface in checkout is a native Shopify extension, set up from the checkout editor and checkout settings.
